What's left behind the scenes

  • Stephen King named "Let Me In" the best film of 2010.
  • The word "vampire" is spoken only once in the film.
  • A scene in which Abby is raped and turned into a vampire was cut from the film. According to Matt Reeves, this episode did not fit the overall narrative.
  • In scenes where Abby walks barefoot, Chloë Grace Moretz was genuinely barefoot. Between takes, crew members warmed her feet.
  • The remake rights were acquired in 2008 at the Tribeca Film Festival. Tomas Alfredson, the director of the original film, was offered to direct the American version, but he declined.
  • Filming took place from November 2009 to January 2010.
  • Despite Owen asking Abby twice how old she is, she never reveals her true age, saying she is 'about 12 years old'.
  • The tapping at the end of the first trailer spells out 'help me'. At the end of the film, Owen uses Morse code to tell Abby, who is sitting in a box, 'kiss'.
  • Stephen King named "Let the Right One In" the best film of 2010.
  • Despite Owen asking Abby her age twice, she never reveals her true age, stating that she is "around 12 years old."
  • The tapping in the first trailer spells out "help me." At the end of the film, Owen uses Morse code to tell Abby, who is inside the box, "I love you."
