Let Me In

Let Me In is set in a snowy New Mexico town in 1983, where twelve-year-old Owen lives with his mother in a drab apartment block. Bullied at school and isolated at home, he forms a bond with Abby, a girl who has moved in next door and who only ever appears after sunset. As a series of killings and disappearances unsettles the community, Owen is drawn toward a painful realisation about the nature of his new friend, who lives with a quiet older man he takes to be her father. The film is a remake of the Swedish Let the Right One In, itself based on John Ajvide Lindqvist's novel; Lindqvist shares screenplay credit with director Matt Reeves.

Kodi Smit-McPhee plays Owen and Chloë Grace Moretz plays Abby, with Richard Jenkins as the Father and Elias Koteas as the Policeman. The production brought together British, American and Swedish companies, among them Hammer Film Productions, and was made for about 20 million US dollars, returning roughly 24 million worldwide. It followed Reeves's Cloverfield and preceded Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and later The Batman.

On IMDb the film holds 7.1 out of 10 from around 133,000 votes, and on TMDB 6.8 out of 10 from about 2,270 votes. A critics' rating of 7.5 out of 10 from 234 reviews places it somewhat above the audience scores.
