The First Omen
Short description
Set in 1971, this horror film follows a young American woman named Margaret who travels to Rome to enter a life of religious service. While there, she experiences a darkness that leads her to doubt her faith and reveals a frightening conspiracy aimed at bringing the incarnation of evil into the world. Along the way, she connects with other residents, including a girl from a monastery orphanage who shares her troubling visions.
The movie was directed by Arkasha Stevenson, who also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Tim Smith and Keith Thomas. What's left behind the scenes
- The film was initially going to receive an NC-17 rating – mainly due to the childbirth scene. The filmmakers submitted it for rating four times, and each time the childbirth scene was present, but the rating agency relented only when a 13-second portion of the scene was cut, and the film received an R rating.
