What's left behind the scenes
- Boris Kaufman, the cinematographer, was the brother of Soviet director Dziga Vertov. The film was shot using a camera sent by Vertov, as Kaufman and Vigo had sold theirs to cover the costs of completing the film 'Zero for Conduct'.
- Emir Kusturica, a big fan of the film 'Atlanta', quoted the 'underwater scene' in his film 'Underground' (1995).
