Reign of the Supermen

After Superman dies fighting Doomsday, the world mourns while Metropolis still needs a protector. Four figures step forward claiming the Superman name: Superboy, Steel, the Eradicator and Cyborg Superman. Each has his own idea of what the mantle means, and their methods differ sharply, so the question of which of them can truly replace the fallen hero becomes the center of the story. The film continues the narrative begun in The Death of Superman, adapting the DC Comics storyline that followed the character's death.

Sam Liu directs, with Jake Castorena also credited as director; Jim Krieg and Tim Sheridan wrote the screenplay, and Liu produced with Amy McKenna. The voice cast includes Jerry O'Connell, Rebecca Romijn, Rainn Wilson, Cress Williams, Cameron Monaghan and Charles Halford among twenty-two credited performers. For Liu it is the sixteenth of twenty-two films he directed in chronological order, arriving between The Death of Superman and Wonder Woman: Bloodlines, and it pairs directly with the earlier film as a two-part adaptation.

The film runs eighty-seven minutes and was released in January 2019. On TMDB it holds a rating of 7 out of 10 from 714 votes, a solid audience response for a direct-to-video animated DC feature.
