What's left behind the scenes
- The sets for the scenes inside the university hospital had to be rebuilt from scratch, as the sets from the first film were not preserved.
- It is revealed at the end that the killer is Gregory Butler. In an alternate reality, this is a reference to one of the original endings of the film, where he kills Trish along with Laurie. Furthermore, Stephanie Butler's involvement in the murder is a reference to the alternative ending of the first film, which was changed due to negative audience reactions at preview screenings.
- According to Jessica Roth, her favorite death scene in the film is the one where she falls from the plane without a parachute in a bikini and lands in front of Carter and Daniel.
