Short description
Collegian Tree Gelbman wakes up in horror to learn that she's stuck in a parallel universe. Her boyfriend Carter is now with someone else, and her friends and fellow students seem to be completely different versions of themselves. When Tree discovers that Carter's roommate has been altering time, she finds herself once again the target of a masked killer. When the psychopath starts to go after her inner circle, Tree soon realizes that she must die over and over again to save everyone.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The sets for the scenes inside the university hospital had to be rebuilt from scratch, as the sets from the first film were not preserved.
  • It is revealed at the end that the killer is Gregory Butler. In an alternate reality, this is a reference to one of the original endings of the film, where he kills Trish along with Laurie. Furthermore, Stephanie Butler's involvement in the murder is a reference to the alternative ending of the first film, which was changed due to negative audience reactions at preview screenings.
  • According to Jessica Roth, her favorite death scene in the film is the one where she falls from the plane without a parachute in a bikini and lands in front of Carter and Daniel.
  • Trish takes a semi-automatic pistol from the police officer guarding the serial killer. Before entering the room where Laurie is to be killed, she pulls back the slide, and it doesn't return to its original position. This happens only when there are no more cartridges in the magazine.
  • According to Jessica Roth, her favorite death scene in the film is the one where she falls out of the plane without a parachute in a bikini and falls in front of Carter and Daniel.
