Promare

Thirty years after a global fire catastrophe halved the human population and created mutants called Burnish, who can manipulate flames, the world remains in conflict. Galo Thymos is a member of the Burning Rescue, a specialized firefighting department tasked with stopping these mutants. When a terrorist group known as the Mad Burnish begins attacking cities, Galo and his team must fight to prevent another worldwide disaster. During his encounters with the mutant leader Lio Fotia, Galo begins to question the established truth about the Burnish.

Directed by Hiroyuki Imaishi, this action science fiction animation is the third film in his directed works, following two Gurren Lagann movies and preceding Promare / Side: Galo. The screenplay was written by Kazuki Nakashima and produced by Keisuke Ukai. The voice cast features Kenichi Matsuyama as Galo Thymos and Taichi Saotome as Lio Fotia, alongside Ayane Sakura, Hiroyuki Yoshino, Tetsu Inada, and Mayumi Shintani.

The film earned 10 million USD at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is consistent across platforms, with a rating of 7/10 on IMDb from 5,900 votes and a 7/10 on TMDB from 333 votes. These scores are slightly lower than the 8/10 rating given by film critics based on 29 reviews.
