One Piece: Stampede follows Monkey D. Luffy and his Straw Hat crew as they join the Pirates Expo, a massive gathering hosted by pirates for pirates, where crews from across the world compete for a treasure linked to Gol D. Roger. What begins as a festive race turns dangerous when the Marines appear and the event reveals itself as a trap, drawing in a former member of Roger's crew with his own reasons for being there. The film is a standalone story set within the wider One Piece world rather than a direct adaptation of a manga arc.
Takashi Otsuka directed, working from a screenplay he wrote with Atsuhiro Tomioka. It is the fourth feature he directed, following three earlier titles released in 2009, 2010 and 2017. Mayumi Tanaka returns as the voice of Luffy, alongside Kazuya Nakai, Akemi Okamura, Kappei Yamaguchi, Hiroaki Hirata and Ikue Otani as the other Straw Hats. Production involved Toei Animation, Shueisha, Bandai Namco Entertainment and Toei Company.
Released in 2019, the film runs 101 minutes and took about 81 million dollars worldwide, a strong result for a Japanese animated feature and a sign of the series' international reach. On IMDb it holds 7.5/10 from roughly 9,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.8/10 from 665 votes. A critics' rating of 7.2/10 from 16 reviews places it close to the audience scores, suggesting broad agreement on its merits.
