The Wonderland

A shy girl named Akane is visited by an alchemist called Hippocrates and his companion Pipo just before her birthday. The pair claim they are on a mission to save a parallel world and persuade Akane to join them. After traveling through a secret passage, Akane enters a place called Wonderland, where she is regarded as a savior capable of preventing a disaster.

This Japanese animated family fantasy was directed by Keiichi Hara, marking his eleventh feature film after Miss Hokusai and before Lonely Castle in the Mirror. The movie was produced by Warner Bros. Japan with a screenplay by Miho Maruo. The voice cast includes Mayu Matsuoka as Akane, Anne Watanabe as Chii, Kumiko Aso as Midori, Nao Toyama as Pipo, Keiji Fujiwara as Zan Gu, and Akiko Yajima as Doropo.
