Tom & Jerry

Tom and Jerry centres on the long-running rivalry between a cat and a mouse who find themselves without a home. Both end up at an upscale New York hotel, where a young employee named Kayla is organizing a high-profile wedding. When Jerry makes himself at home and threatens the event, Kayla's job is on the line, so she brings in Tom to remove the mouse. Their chase causes growing disruption at the hotel, and a scheming colleague of Kayla's adds to the pressure on all three of them.

The film is directed by Tim Story, the eleventh of the fifteen features he has directed in chronological order, following Shaft and preceding Dashing Through the Snow. Kevin Costello wrote the screenplay, Christopher DeFaria produced, and the large credited cast and crew reflect a studio production mounted on a budget of 50 million dollars. Chloë Grace Moretz plays Kayla, with Michael Peña, Colin Jost, Rob Delaney, Ken Jeong and Pallavi Sharda among the main performers.

Released in February 2021, the film combines live-action settings with animated animal characters. It took in about 137 million dollars worldwide, roughly two and a half times its production budget. Audience responses differ: on IMDb it holds 5.3 out of 10 from around 43,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.7 out of 10 from a much smaller pool of 2,623 votes. A critics' rating of 4.7 out of 10 from 131 reviews places it below both audience scores.
