Madison, a woman living in the United States, is overwhelmed by visions of violent killings that leave her unable to rest. As the attacks continue, she comes to believe these episodes are not dreams but events unfolding in the real world, and that they are connected to something buried in her own past. Her search for the truth draws in those around her, including her sister and the detectives investigating the deaths.

James Wan directed the film, his eleventh feature, arriving after Aquaman and before Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom in his filmography. Akela Cooper wrote the screenplay, and Wan produced with Michael Clear. Annabelle Wallis plays Madison, with Maddie Hasson, George Young, Michole Briana White, Susanna Thompson and Ingrid Bisu in supporting roles.
