Short description

Franklin Shepard is a talented Broadway composer who abandons his theater career and all his friends in New York in order to produce films in Los Angeles. The story begins at the height of his Hollywood fame and moves backwards in time, showing snapshots of the most important moments in Frank’s life that shaped the man he is today.

What's left behind the scenes

Initially, Blake Jenner was cast in the lead role, but he left the project, and the main character was played by Paul Mescal.
The movie will be filmed over 20 years, so its release is expected around 2040. Director and screenwriter Richard Linklater used this same technique when filming 'Boyhood,' which took 12 years.
According to Ben Platt, a rough filming schedule has already been approved. Linklater intends to follow a storyline timeline spanning from 1957 to 1976. Each sequence will essentially be a short film.
