Femmes Fatales
Short description
Two exhausted middle-aged men, including a gynecologist, decide to abandon their professional and family obligations to escape the demands of their wives. Seeking peace in the countryside, they encounter a local priest named Father Émile who introduces them to the simple pleasures of life. However, their attempt at a quiet existence is disrupted when their wives pursue them, leading the men to flee further and inadvertently inspire a large procession of other disillusioned males to follow their lead.
This French comedy was directed by Bertrand Blier, marking his second feature film after Going Places. Blier also co-wrote the screenplay with Philippe Dumarçay. The movie stars Jean-Pierre Marielle, Jean Rochefort, Brigitte Fossey, and Bernard Blier, with a total credited cast of 32 actors.

- According to director and screenwriter Bertrand Blier, Jean Gabin initially agreed to play the bishop in a small episode. When producer Christian Fechner met Gabin, he realized that the film's budget could not sustain such expenses, as Gabin requested his usual fee and explained that the amount did not change regardless of whether he spent one hour or three months in front of the camera.
