Vic is a young Viking who is small in stature and not built for fighting, but he is clever and thinks before he acts. His father Halvar, a clan leader and warrior, believes the boy is too weak and too young to join his crew at sea. Vic longs to sail with him anyway. When a sword is taken from a sworn enemy, trouble spreads among the Vikings, and Vic gets the chance to show that cunning can matter as much as strength.
The film is an animated adventure from Germany, Belgium and France, directed by Éric Cazes, who wrote the screenplay with Frédéric Lenoir and Oliver Huzly. Declan Miele-Howell voices Vic, with David Schaal as Halvar, Owen Frost as Loki and Leif, Violet Tucker Steel as Ylvi, and Dan Russell as Faxe and Odin. It runs 79 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from 45 votes, which suggests a limited audience response, consistent with a worldwide box office of about 3 million USD.
The character comes from a long-running children's series about a resourceful Viking boy, and this story keeps the focus on his wits rather than his size. The film was released in December 2019.
