Olivia and the Invisible Earthquake follows a twelve-year-old girl whose life changes abruptly after she and her family are evicted from their home. Now living in a modest apartment in a rough area of the city, Olivia must step up to care for her younger brother, Tim, and their mother. To shield Tim from their difficult circumstances, she convinces him that their new reality is actually a movie production where he is the lead actor. Through the support of colorful new friends and neighbors, Olivia navigates her emotional turmoil and learns to adapt to her new environment.
The film was directed by Irene Iborra Rizo, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Julia Prats and Maite Carranza. This animated production is a co-production between Argentina, Belgium, Spain, and France, involving companies such as Panique! and RTBF. The voice cast features Ona Bagué as Olivia, Biel Pato as Tim, and Emma Suárez as Ingrid, with additional voices provided by Sarah Bea, Victoria Peñarroya, and David Mateos. The movie has a runtime of 70 minutes and blends elements of drama, comedy, and family animation.
