The first film where Q becomes an active participant in action scenes.
Faye Dunaway and Sybil Danning both auditioned for the role of Octopussy, but Mod Adams ultimately played her, having previously appeared in another James Bond film – "The Man with the Golden Gun" (1974), in which her character was killed.
James Brolin auditioned for the role of James Bond.
The end credits of the film mention the title of the next installment in the Bond series – “From A View To A Kill.” Ultimately, this film was titled “A View to A Kill.”
During James Bond's escape from Khan's palace, the famous Tarzan yell from the 1930s films starring Johnny Weissmuller can be heard.
