Happy Halloween, Scooby-Doo! follows Scooby and the rest of the gang as Halloween, their favourite holiday, turns into a genuine mystery. A pumpkin patch contaminated by a toxic substance produces giant jack-o'-lanterns that threaten Crystal Cove, and the familiar fake-monster routine no longer applies. Joining the group are Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and Bill Nye, whose help may or may not make the case easier to crack.
The film is directed and written by Maxwell Atoms, who also produced it, and it is the first feature he directed, ahead of Scooby-Doo! The Sword and the Scoob in 2021. The voice cast returns the long-standing team of Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo and Fred, Grey DeLisle as Daphne, Matthew Lillard as Shaggy and Kate Micucci as Velma, with Cassandra Peterson voicing Elvira and Bill Nye appearing as himself. Warner Bros. Animation and Hanna-Barbera Productions made the 77-minute film, released in October 2020.
Audience response is divided along the two platforms: on IMDb it holds 6.2 out of 10 from around 2,500 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7.7 out of 10 from 262 votes. The small TMDB sample points to a warmer reaction there, whereas the larger IMDb group rates it more moderately.
