Judith Albright, played by Barbara Hershey, moves into a historic assisted-living residence after a stroke leaves her less able to look after herself. The facility has a good reputation, and she forms a friendship with a longtime resident named Roland, played by Bruce Davison. Before long, however, she notices strange events and disturbing visions, and comes to believe that a sinister presence is targeting the people living there. When no one around her takes her seriously, she faces a choice between getting out of the manor and becoming another victim of whatever is inside it. Nicholas Alexander, Jill Larson, Fran Bennett and Ciera Payton also appear.
The film is a horror and mystery entry from the United States, produced by Amazon Studios, Blumhouse Television and Storm King Productions, and running just over eighty minutes. Axelle Carolyn directed and wrote the screenplay; it is her second feature as director, following Tales of Halloween, and it places her within a group of filmmakers working in the same production tradition.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 5.3 from roughly 8,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.5 from about 300 votes. A critics' rating of 6 out of 10, drawn from 29 reviews, sits slightly above both audience scores, suggesting that reviewers responded to it a little more favorably than general viewers did.
