Away All Boats follows the American transport ship USS Belinda and its crew during the Pacific campaign of the Second World War. Captain Jebediah S. Hawks takes command of the newly repaired vessel and must turn an inexperienced crew into sailors capable of carrying infantry to enemy-held beaches and surviving combat at sea, including attacks by Japanese aircraft. Much of the tension comes from the gap between the captain's demanding standards and the officers and men around him, among them Lieutenant Dave MacDougall and Commander Quigley, as the ship moves from one hazardous landing operation to the next.
The 1956 American war drama was produced by Universal Pictures, directed by Joseph Pevney and written by Ted Sherdeman, with Howard Christie producing. Pevney's next film after this one was Torpedo Run. Jeff Chandler leads the cast as Captain Hawks, alongside George Nader, Lex Barker, Julie Adams, Keith Andes and Richard Boone. On TMDB the film holds a rating of 5.3 out of 10 from 24 votes.
