What's left behind the scenes
- Diego Boneta and Xavier Samuel auditioned for the role that went to Luke Grimes.
- When Brian asks Kim to draw circles on the map, the numbers he states are radii, not diameters. If she had drawn the circles as he described, they would have been much smaller in diameter than intended.
- When Brian and Kim are riding on the ferry, Brian's hand is sometimes on her shoulder, then abruptly returns to its original position.
- During the car chase scene, the rear window of the taxi is shot out. In several frames afterwards, the window is sometimes intact and then broken again.
- Despite the taxi crashing into cars, walls, etc., it remains in almost perfect condition throughout the entire chase scene.
- The US Embassy in Turkey is located in Ankara. There is only a US Consulate in Istanbul.

- The film was mainly shot in Istanbul, Turkey, and the filming was accompanied by some problems and difficulties. For example, during the shooting of a chase scene, a car crashed into the wall of a building, causing serious damage to the store located inside. Negotiations had to be held with the store owner to compensate for the damage, and filming continued only after the negotiations were completed.
- When the filming of a sequel to Pierre Morel's 2007 film was first announced, no one knew whether Liam Neeson would return to play the role of Brian Mills. If he had refused, the role would have been offered to Mickey Rourke, but Neeson agreed immediately.
