What's left behind the scenes

  • Jeff Bridges was offered the lead male role, but he declined.
  • Several times, Kay is shown making breakfast for Arnold. She fries one strip of bacon and cracks one egg into the pan, but two eggs can be seen on Arnold's plate.
  • When a distraught Kay is walking in the rain, her hair is wet and disheveled. When she enters the bar, she quickly runs her hand through it, and by the time she sits down (a few seconds pass), her hair is already dry and neatly styled.
  • In almost every street scene near Kay and Arnold's house, a Buick and a Subaru can be seen parked in the driveway in front of the garage. However, when a taxi arrives to take Kay to the airport and bring her and Arnold back, the cars are gone. Presumably, they moved the cars into the garage as they were about to leave town. When Kay is about to leave, neither she nor Arnold, who was going to accompany her, knows this.
