What's left behind the scenes

  • Phone conversations were filmed using a device specially installed on the set. Pat Healy was on the floor below, and other actors spoke to him over the phone on set. Once during filming, the connection was interrupted due to a malfunction, and Healy was told to come upstairs, where he delivered his lines, trying not to get into the camera frame.
  • The film is based on real events that took place in the United States on April 9, 2004, when 37-year-old private prison employee David R. Stewart called a McDonald's restaurant in Mount Washington, Kentucky, identifying himself as “Officer Scott”.
  • The only one who served time was Walter Nix Jr., a friend of the establishment's manager, Donna Summers. Due to insufficient evidence, David Stewart was found not guilty. Summers was sentenced to probation.
