Ostap Bender: Gold of the Empire

Ibrahim Bender and his apprentice Ostap attempt to recover a priceless scepter to fund a comfortable life in Rio de Janeiro. The treasure is currently held by Nestor Makhno, an anarchist commander who believes the item is part of a larger cache of imperial relics hidden in the region. This sparks a chaotic competition involving partisans, the mafia, and officers from both the Red and White armies. While trying to outsmart these rivals, Ostap also struggles to regain the trust of a woman he loves before she marries someone else.

Directed by Igor Zaytsev, this action-comedy is the second of three films in the director's career, following The Conquest of Siberia and preceding Ostap Bender: The Final Hustle. The movie was produced by Sreda and features a screenplay by Oleg Malovichko. The cast includes Sergei Bezrukov as Ibrahim Suleiman Berta-Maria Bender-bay, Pavel Derevyanko as Nestor Mahno, and Nikita Kologrivyi as Mishka Yaponchik.
