- Juan (played by Carra Elejalde) suffers from Korsakov's syndrome. This is a malfunction of the central nervous system, which manifests as forgetfulness and impaired cognitive processes, especially if the patient abuses drugs and alcohol. The patient loses the ability to absorb new information, and their memories are distorted. This syndrome was first discovered and described by the famous Russian scientist Sergei Sergeevich Korsakov (1854-1900).
