Short description
When a mysterious animal attack leaves a mutilated body in the forest, a conservative small town detective must enlist the help of an eager wildlife specialist to uncover the dark and disturbing truth that threatens the town.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming took place from May 8 to November 13, 2021.
- Lee Jong-jae refined the film's screenplay over four years.
- Following the film's premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, many critics complained that they found it difficult to understand the moments related to the specifics of South Korean politics in the 1980s. Lee Joon-ik then created a version for Western audiences: he changed some of the dialogue and slightly re-edited the film. This version has a runtime of 131 minutes.
- The film does not claim historical accuracy, although it is based on real events – the assassination attempt on the President of South Korea in 1983 in Burma.
