Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Rodrick Rules

Greg Heffley is starting a new school year, but his main problem is closer to home: his older brother Rodrick, who teases him constantly and seems to be waiting for the right moment to reveal an embarrassing secret from Greg's summer. As Greg navigates middle school, tries to impress girls and avoid the school talent show, he has to figure out whether he and Rodrick can get along at all. The film is an animated adaptation of Jeff Kinney's popular book series, and the story centres on the brothers' difficult but ultimately affectionate relationship.

The film was directed by Luke Cormican, marking the first of two Diary of a Wimpy Kid animated features he made, followed by Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever in 2023. Jeff Kinney, the author of the books, wrote the screenplay and produced. The voice cast includes Brady Noon as Greg, Hunter Dillon as Rodrick, Ethan William Childress as Rowley, Erica Cerra as Susan, Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank and Gracen Newton as Manny, among 36 credited performers.

Released in December 2022, the film runs 74 minutes and was produced by Walt Disney Pictures with Bardel Entertainment in Canada and the United States. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.2 out of 10 from around 2,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.8 out of 10 from roughly 200 votes.
