  • Faye Dunaway, who plays the psychologist in the film, played the role of a detective in the 1968 original.
  • Rene Russo filmed a nude scene for the first time in her acting career.
  • When viewers first see Thomas Crown's bedroom on screen, a black and white autographed photograph of the famous supermodel Cindy Crawford can be seen on the dresser with a mirror.
  • The film suggests that insurance agents photograph the edges of paintings hidden behind the frames to prevent forgery. This explanation is quite far from the truth. No reputable museum would ever hide even the smallest piece of such famous paintings from visitors.
  • One of the clauses in Pierce Brosnan's contract for the role of James Bond stipulated that the actor was not allowed to wear a tuxedo while filming any movies not related to the Bond franchise. In 'The Heist,' Brosnan's character dances at a ball. However, upon closer inspection, we can see that the top button of his shirt is undone and his white bow tie is not tied. This was done specifically to avoid a huge penalty. Formally, this appearance is not formal wear, and therefore, technically, Pierce's character is not wearing a tuxedo.
