Evil Eye

A thirteen-year-old girl named Nala travels from the city to the countryside with her family. They visit her grandmother in hopes of finding a cure for a mysterious illness affecting Nala's younger sister. While staying at the rural home, Nala begins to suspect that her grandmother is not as kind as she appears and may be hiding a dark secret.

This Mexican horror film was directed by Isaac Ezban, following his previous work on The Incident, The Similars, Parallel, and Deathcember. It preceded his 2024 project, Párvulos: Children of the Apocalypse. The movie was written by Junior Rosario and produced by Edgar San Juan. The cast features Paola Miguel in the lead role as Nala, alongside Ofelia Medina, Ivanna Sofia Ferro, Samantha Castillo, Arap Bethke, and Mauro González.

Produced by Film Tank, Cinépolis Producciones, and Cinema Máquina, the film had a budget of 2 million USD and earned an equal amount at the worldwide box office. Audience reception is mixed to positive, with a rating of 5.6/10 on IMDb based on 1,800 votes and a higher score of 6.7/10 on TMDB from 292 votes.
