Spider

Spider is a 2002 drama directed by David Cronenberg and written by Patrick McGrath. Ralph Fiennes plays Dennis Cleg, known as Spider, a man who moves into a halfway house in London's East End after years in a psychiatric institution. He keeps largely to himself, muttering and scribbling in a notebook, and spends his days walking the streets he grew up in. The places he passes stir up childhood memories, and his mind drifts back toward a traumatic event involving his mother, his father Bill, and a woman named Yvonne. Miranda Richardson plays Yvonne and Mrs. Cleg, with Gabriel Byrne as Bill Cleg, Lynn Redgrave as Mrs. Wilkinson, and John Neville as Terrence.

The film was released in 2002 and runs 98 minutes. It was made on a budget of about 10 million US dollars and took roughly 6 million at the worldwide box office. Cronenberg directed it as his fourteenth film, between eXistenZ and A History of Violence, and also produced it with Samuel Hadida and Catherine Bailey.
