What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is prohibited from distribution in the Republic of Belarus.
  • The film is based on the crimes of a real Australian serial killer named Ivan Milat.
  • During filming, only a couple of takes were shot directly according to the script, and the actors were otherwise allowed to improvise. Many scenes in the film were the result of pure improvisation.
  • Neither cloudy weather nor rain were specifically written into the script. The filming schedule was so tight that they had to shoot regardless of the weather conditions. If it happened to be raining outside during a scheduled scene, the script was rewritten on the fly, a couple of lines about the bad weather were inserted, and filming would begin.
