He was instrumental in the early development of Brazilian cinema, co-founding the Atlântida Cinematográfica in 1941, which became a pivotal studio in the country's film industry. Additionally, he composed popular songs such as "Cabocla" and "Meu Limão, Meu Limoeiro," which have been recorded by various artists.
