Maro Kontou (Greek: Μάρω Κοντού; born 21 June 1934 - 15 July 2026) was a Greek actress and politician. She performed in more than sixty films since 1954. Maro Kontou's first film appearance was just after she had started at the National Theater, with a silent role in the Finos Film film "Happy Beginning" (1954) by Dinos Dimopoulos. Roles in films by other producers followed ("The Man on the Train", "Crime in Kolonaki", "Crime Behind the Scenes") before making her debut with a leading role in the Finos Film film "The Yellow Gloves" (1960) as the wife of the jealous Nikos Stavridis. She returned to Finos Film in 1963, starring alongside Dinos Iliopoulos in the film "My Friend Lefterakis".© ACMODASI, 2010-2026
