Girish Puthencherry was born on September 23, 1959 in Puthenchery, Kozhikode, Kerala, India. He was a noted Malayalam Lyricist, Poet, Scriptwriter and Screenwriter. Best known for his significant contributions as a Lyricist in Malayalam cinema. He was often hailed as the aristocratic lyricist of Malayalam and was admired for his unique and distinctive writing style. He was a writer, known for Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalathu (1997), Meleparambil Aanveedu (1993) and Vadakkum Nathan (2006). He passed away on February 10, 2010 in Kozhikode due to a severe brain hemorrhage.
