He joined the company in 2004, initially working on the Armored Core series, and rose to international acclaim as the creator of the Dark Souls franchise.

Miyazaki became president and representative director of FromSoftware in 2014. He has since directed several critically acclaimed titles, including Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and Elden Ring. For Elden Ring, Miyazaki collaborated with author George R. R. Martin, who contributed to the game’s lore and overarching mythos.

His games are known for their high difficulty, atmospheric worldbuilding, and storytelling delivered through environmental design and subtle narrative cues rather than traditional dialogue. Widely regarded as an auteur in the video game industry, Miyazaki's distinctive style has helped define the "Soulslike" subgenre and influenced a generation of game designers.
