Dermot Edmondson

Dermot is a producer, writer, and editor from County Kilkenny. He has been making films for over 15 years. Originally a cinematographer and editor, he has shifted his focus to producing and writing in recent years. His short film Housemates won Best Screenwriting at the 2025 Dublin University Film Festival. He is the founder of Úllord Productions.

Dermot is also a musician and has been playing the violin since 2007. He is also self-taught in a variety of other instruments (including piano, trumpet, and bass guitar) and has played in orchestras, ensembles and pit bands for many years. In 2024, he conducted the orchestra for UCD Musical Society's production of 'Gypsy: A Musical Fable'. Also that year, he was awarded the Arts Council Agility Award for orchestral and choral conducting practice development.
