Sofia is a transfeminine audiovisual artist who researches failure in three instances: the body, image and gender. Through real-time image manipulations, using camera devices such as webcams and digital microscopes, the artist seeks to break away from the harmonic clarity of human forms and delve into embodied cybernetic abstractions. The molecular dissolution between flesh and video becomes evident through images that capture the innards of the machine and the artist's skin. Genderless organs, non-human skin, exhausting the molecules of the image and the body are Sofia's goals.
