Carlos Hernández (Spain, December 22, 2003) is a Spanish independent filmmaker, director and editor. He began creating short films at a young age, working with small crews and developing his projects through a self-taught and collaborative production process.

His early work includes Nadia, Estudio de los Estados Anímicos and Chatarrero Jedi, all released in 2018. In 2019, he continued directing short films such as Niñera no era, De tal palo tal Astilla and YANOS, experimenting with comedy, suspense, fantasy and horror through productions made with limited resources.

Many of these projects featured his younger brother, filmmaker and actor Alberto Hernández, who began appearing in Carlos’s short films as a child. Their collaboration developed into a family-based creative environment in which both brothers have taken on different roles in front of and behind the camera.

In 2025, Carlos directed La Silla Vacía, a silent black-and-white short film centred on grief, memory and the presence of a deceased brother who remains unaware of his own death.

He later directed Miguel Myers: Halloween Villaverde, a fan-made horror short inspired by the Halloween universe, scheduled for release on October 31, 2026.

Alongside his work as a director, Carlos has served as editor on most of Alberto Hernández’s short films, with Alberto Hernandez’s The Circus being the main exception. He continues to develop independent audiovisual projects, combining directing, editing and collaborative filmmaking within small-scale productions.
