Shagun Kanwar is a Canadian film producer who brings nuanced, culturally rooted stories to global audiences. A Future of Good Young Impact Leader and 2025 Gotham EDU Fellow, she produces films that explore belonging and assimilation, intergenerational inheritance, and the tension between collective remembrance and historical amnesia. She thrives at the intersection of creative leadership and community-driven impact, leading a growing slate of international co-productions that elevate Canadian storytelling on the world stage.

Shagun is an alumna of the University of Toronto and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts - Peter Stark Producing Program for Film, Television, and New Media. When she's not making films or attending film festivals, catch her solo-traveling around the world, trying not to die while climbing (& jumping off) mountains.
