Hadi Alipanah (b. 1986) is an Iranian film critic and cultural advocate who has contributed to Iranian publications since 2007. In 2011, he began focusing specifically on Iranian short films, supporting independent short filmmakers and promoting their work. Along this path, he has collaborated with numerous short films as a production consultant, media advisor, and international distribution consultant.

In addition, Hadi Alipanah has co-developed programs—together with other colleagues—in collaboration with prominent institutions involved in film history and archiving, such as the Arsenal Film Institute and the UCLA Film and TV Archive. Through these collaborations, he has developed programs that focus on the history of Iranian cinema—especially short and amateur films he has uncovered in his research—and brought these long-lost films to new audiences. And to add to this, these programs are not just about older films uncovered through his research; he also curates new films by emerging young filmmakers for various events.
