Mona Best was an Indian-born British music promoter and the founder of the Casbah Coffee Club in Liverpool, a venue that played a significant role in the early development of the Beatles. As the mother of original Beatles drummer Pete Best, she supported the band during their formative years, providing them with a place to perform and helping nurture Liverpool’s emerging rock and roll scene.
