Carlos Zenteno

Carlos Zenteno is from Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, and is currently pursuing a degree in Philosophy at the University of Guadalajara. His interests stem from narratives and the different ways of telling stories, an inquiry that finds a natural connection with his philosophical background and with the ways in which philosophy allows us to question, observe, and interpret the world around us. From this perspective, he explores how a story can be shaped not only through what is seen, but also through what is heard and perceived.

Sound holds a central place in his approach to audiovisual language. He is interested in exploring its possibilities from the moment of production, paying close attention to the elements that emerge organically during filming, and then taking them further in post-production to expand their narrative potential. This pursuit is closely connected to his interest in documentary filmmaking and in stories rooted in reality. For him, observation and listening are ways of approaching these stories, discovering what lies within the details, and finding through sound new ways to create meaning and impact.
