Anas Fteiha

Anas Fteiha is a Palestinian photojournalist originally from the Gaza Strip. His work focuses primarily on documenting the war, the living conditions of the civilian population, displacement and humanitarian emergencies in Gaza. Since 7 October 2023, he has continued to photograph events on the ground, personally enduring – alongside his family – bombings, forced displacement and difficulties in securing essential supplies. He has also joined the collective project ‘Untold Palestine’, contributing to the international dissemination of reports on the lives of Palestinians. In August 2025, he became embroiled in a controversy after the German newspaper Bild cast doubt on the authenticity of some of his photographs depicting the food crisis in Gaza, accusing him of producing propaganda images. Fteiha rejected the allegations, and subsequent journalistic investigations refuted the claims that the photographs had been staged. In December 2025, the German Press Council also recognised violations of the principles of accuracy and protection of reputation in the Bild article. In February 2026, the US magazine The Nation featured his work in a profile that also highlighted a photograph of a Palestinian child seriously injured by a piece of unexploded ordnance.
