What's left behind the scenes
- Keira Knightley was originally planned for the lead role, but since filming took place during the coronavirus pandemic, the actress declined the part, and Claire Danes was invited instead.
- Screenwriter and author of the novel that served as the literary source for the script, Sarah Perry, appeared on screen in a supporting role. She is the one in the blue coat and skirt walking in London behind Tom Hiddleston, who plays Will.
