What's left behind the scenes
- Scenes inside the train were filmed on a set in a specially constructed carriage with removable walls. They were made removable to allow for camera movement. This is noticeable when someone enters or leaves the carriage—a bush is always present outside, placed there to hide the equipment. Even in wide shots showing a desert along the railway tracks where nothing grows at all, the bush still appears whenever characters enter or exit the carriage.
- Robert Conrad later stated that his trousers were so tight that they invariably ripped during every action scene. Indeed, shorts are visible on the actor in some episodes.
- Ross Martin (1920-1981), who played the role of Artemus Gordon, missed filming for 9 episodes due to a broken leg and a near-fatal heart attack.
