What's left behind the scenes
- Terry Gilliam (the director, screenwriter, and producer of the 1981 film) took great pride in the fact that little people appeared as the lead characters of an adventure action movie in his "Time Bandits," in contrast to other projects where dwarfs are cast in episodic roles or dressed in costumes that hide them from view. Gilliam was very critical of the 2024 series for its lack of little people in the cast. He did not participate in the series because he lost the rights to "Time Bandits" when the production company Handmade Films went bankrupt and was auctioned off.
- In September 2024, it was announced that due to low ratings, the series would be canceled after the completion of the first season.
- The design of the cockades that the bandits wear on their hats, headbands, or scarves is borrowed from "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969-1974), in which Terry Gilliam appeared.
