What's left behind the scenes
- The helmets that people use to emerge to the surface are nearly identical to the spacesuit helmets from Stanley Kubrick's science fiction film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968).
- In the 10th episode of the first season, Hugh Howey, the author of the novel series that served as the literary source for the script, made an appearance.
