What's left behind the scenes
- The character Bailey Bass was made slightly older in the series because, due to child labor laws in New Orleans, the creators could not use an underage actress.
- According to the novel's author, Anne Rice, she was prompted to write the book by the death of her daughter Michelle from leukemia at the age of 5. Through the character of Bailey Bass, she attempted to imagine what her child would have been like had she survived.
