What's left behind the scenes
- The actors involved in the animated series turned to Kickstarter to raise $750,000 over 45 days, the amount needed to create the first 30 minutes of the show. Major firms and foundations found the project insufficiently attractive, but 88,887 private sponsors donated a total of $11,385,449 to the project.
- The project's name, Vox Machina, is a reference to the fact that voice actors are involved. From Latin, the name translates as "voice of the machine."
