What's left behind the scenes

  • The series several times shows a black cat as a harbinger of deadly danger.
  • Jason Desen, played by Joel Edgerton, repeatedly refers to a thought experiment called 'Schrödinger's cat' (one of the most famous experiments in quantum physics) to demonstrate his own ideas regarding quantum superposition. Quantum superposition is a fundamental principle of quantum mechanics that allows a particle or quantum system to exist in multiple states simultaneously. Schrödinger himself developed his thought experiment as a critique of quantum superposition, as the idea that a cat could be both alive and dead at the same time was considered absurd.
